In this review we talk about UGREEN USB-C Hub 6 in 1, a very useful tool to expand the potential of modern laptops with 6 new ports accessible via USB-C
Modern laptops are becoming more and more compact and lightweight. Our backs thank you, but unfortunately the cost to pay is a skimpy endowment of communication ports. Sometimes they are enough for home use, but already using the PC in the office you realize the limitations of many laptops, such as the impossibility of connecting a monitor via HDMI. For photographers and creatives, the absence of the memory card reader can be problematic. Here’s why this Hub USB-C 6 in 1 di UGREEN it might be a good solution. Let’s see if it has met our expectations.

UGREEN 6-in-1 USB-C Hub Review: Design and Build
This item looks really good. The external aluminum case gives elegance and above all substance to the hub. It is felt solidity holding it in your hand, while the semi-gloss finish gives elegance while you leave it on your desk. A particularly appreciable aspect in terms of design is the fact that all the doors are hidden from view because they are inserted inside a small recess. At first glance it seems to see a uniform object and it is really pleasant. The connection cable is reinforced at the base which is the most critical point, but in general it is very resistant and this makes it a bit stiff. No creaks or assembly defects. A good product from this point of view. The small size makes it easy to carry in any bag or backpack.
UGREEN 6-in-1 USB-C Hub Review: User Experience
This hub allows you to transform a single USB-C port into 6 ports: one HDMI 2.0, two USB 3.0, SD and microSD card reader and finally a USB-C PD to power the device the hub is connected to. The USB-C connector also allows you to connect smartphones and tablets. All ports are available simultaneously to transmit data. During our tests we connected an FHD resolution screen, an external SSD via USB 3.0 and an SD card making it all work together. UGREEN 6-in-1 USB-C Hub handled all devices perfectly, we didn’t experience any significant slowdowns. From this point of view we cannot complain. The hub tends to heat up during use, but not excessively. It sure doesn’t stay cold.
But one thing we must point out about this hub is the lack of some very useful ports. First of all, the RJ45 connector for connecting to wired networks, increasingly rare to find in modern laptops. Very often there is a need to connect the PC to a network via the network cable for various reasons. A second very useful connector is the VGA. This is a fairly old interface for transmitting video signals, but one that many monitors and projectors – especially in offices and public places – still use a bit outdated. Another useful port could be the audio jack for headphones and microphones. The idea is that if one chooses to buy a USB hub, they do so with the idea of having everything they need without buying 3-4 different converters. In addition, a USB-C port for data would also be missing. If your PC has only one USB-C, you will permanently lose it by plugging in the hub.
Surely this UGREEN 6-in-1 USB-C Hub is nice to look at: compact, elegant and refined. Unfortunately this forced the manufacturer to remove some very useful ports in general for those who buy an expansion hub. Instead nothing to say about performance. The aluminum shell also helps dissipate heat, keeping temperatures in check. The price is not exaggerated, but given some shortcomings, it we would have preferred to a handful of euros less. We recommend the purchase on the occasion of some special offer that lowers the price at least around 20-25 euros.
