UGREEN Nexode Pro Magazine Review: design and construction
UGREEN products have always winked at design. Even for the UGREEN Nexode Pro magazines, no savings were made. Both boast a modern and minimalist design. The external finishing is in brushed aluminium with lines, rounded corners which also make it easy to handle and screen-printed brand and model. A plastic insert frames the charging ports. There are no LEDs which indicate the functioning of the doors and, in all sincerity, we don’t miss them. This is mostly an unhelpful feature that wastes energy. We definitely have it in our hands a beautiful object to look at which doesn’t look out of place even when placed in plain sight on a desk or in a modern living room. Furthermore, when you hold it between your fingers you can immediately feel it excellent solidity: no creaking even when subjected to pressure. Excellent build quality therefore.
However, what strikes you most is the great work done by the manufacturer on the dimensions. Despite the high power, these Nexode Pro chargers are compact and lightweight. The 65W model is about half the size of the 45W charger that powers the laptop I’m writing from. The 165W model, despite being heavier and bulkier, is even more impressive in proportion: an object that fits in the palm of your hand can power high-end laptops without problems. In short, these products certainly are a perfect combination of design and technology.
UGREEN Nexode Pro Magazine Review: practical use
Beautiful is beautiful, we understand it. But do they work? Of course yes! Both models do their job very well. Thanks to the broad compatibility with many fast charging standards, these chargers can power virtually any device. The credit goes to the electronics developed by UGREEN which allows you to modulate the output current and voltage at the various ports depending on the connected device.
UGREEN Nexode Pro chargers are also careful to preserve the correct functioning of the devices thanks to a series of intelligent circuits for protection from overvoltages, overcurrents, short circuits and overheating. The high safety standard allows us to use these devices with complete peace of mind even at night and when we are not at home without risks. Great work has also been done on the ecological front: thanks to tecnologia GaNInfinity which makes extensive use of Gallium Nitride (GaN) chips, very efficient chargers have been obtained that waste very little energy. You notice it immediately when they are made to work at full load. Just touch it to realize that they are barely warm, while other less advanced types of chargers tend to get much hotter.
During our tests, both the 65W and 165W models managed to quickly charge various types of compatible smartphones, tablets and laptops. There charging occurred perfectly in line with the fast charging standard provided by the device. The only precaution to take is to connect the correct port to the device because, as can be seen from the specifications, not all are capable of delivering the same power.
Conclusions
UGREEN Nexode Pro magazines are an excellent line of products from every point of view. The design is modern and pleasant, while the construction is solid. Thanks to UGREEN’s GaN technology, these devices are compact and efficient, but also very powerful and allow one or more devices to be quickly recharged. The wide compatibility with various charging standards and the quality of the control and safety circuitry are the icing on the cake. If you are looking for excellent quality chargers for your devices, you have found them! The price to pay is obviously not cheap, starting from 74,99 euro for the 65W model up to the 119,99 euro of the 160W model. Quality comes at a price, even if you can during this period take advantage of a 15% discount coupon to significantly reduce the price.
