The rumors that supported the existence of have been very insistent a dispute between Ortega and the writers of the show. The ideas of the latter would have led the actress to modify parts of the script, because they were too much in contrast with the idea she herself had about her character. For this second season it would seem to her that she will be able to do it without obstacles, since she will also fill the role of executive producer. The actress will therefore be able to express more of her idea on Wednesday and bring it to the stage more easily. To The Hollywood Reporter, the actress vented:

I have had experiences on tv where I felt my voice was not being heard, that I had to be a puppet. I was told on sets, ‘You don’t know because you’re not a writer’ or, ‘Shut up and do your job.’ Since I was 12 I’ve heard things like this. I feel really, really lucky to be a producer this time around.

Also Miles Millar e Al Gough, the authors of Wednesday, expressed their views on the matter. The two seem to have welcomed the news serenely, explaining that “The protagonist of any series becomes your collaborator, it just happens. It’s just inevitable.” The two then added that they welcomed the collaboration and that they are not jealous at all. At the same time, however, they wanted to underline how much the jokes and dialogues are all already written and therefore it’s just about improving the level of communication, so that everyone feels at ease.

More horror and less love story

One of the aspects that most made Jenna Ortega turn up her nose was romance, well present in her storyline. The triangle involving Wednesday, Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) e Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White) it must not have been much appreciated by the actress, who is thinking of reducing the plot, giving the series a lot more horror tints. So expect something different from what you are used to seeing. During an interview with Elle Fanning organized by Variety, Ortega focused on this aspect, which she seems to care a lot about. These are her words.

We decided that we want to put the horror aspect a little more at the center of the show. Because it’s so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously. We are abandoning any possible romantic interest for Wednesdaywhich is really cool.

And what do you think of these news? Are you curious to find out what new the new season will have in store, or would you have preferred that everything continued keeping the same mold? Certainly it is undeniable that the style used up to now has made Wednesday one of the most watched series on the platform Netflix. We of everything we will wait for the release of the new episodes to have our say!
