After the excellent Modern Warfare 2 and the constant success of Warzone 2, we are back again to talk about the next Call of Duty. The 2023 chapter has not yet been officially revealed, but it has already been talked about for some time following numerous leaks, reports and rumors that have intensified in recent weeks. According to these rumors, the next CoD should be a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2, developed by Sledgehammer Games supported by Infinity Ward and Treyarch. In the past, however, it was announced that despite this direct correlation with last year’s title, the game would not be called Modern Warfare 3. Instead.

It seems that it will be like this, according to new rumors that have started circulating on the net in the last few hours. Tom Henderson, of Insider Gaming, has in fact stated that the next CoD it will be called Modern Warfare 3 and which, in addition to the single-player campaign and the multiplayer component, will also see the Zombie mode return. The latter will practically be an Outbreak 2.0, but the interesting thing is that Activision would be wondering whether to detach it from the main game and make it a free-to-play standalone mode.

Other rumors from some time ago had in fact focused on a probable Call of Duty: Zombie in development. Further details on Modern Warfare 3 would indicate the arrival also of a new map for Warzone 2 during its first seasonbased on Las Almas (a map from Modern Warfare 2), which should arrive in the first part of December 2023.

Also according to Henderson, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 should arrive on the market in November, complete with a beta version scheduled for the previous month, while the reveal should officially take place in August.
