SAIC Motor he nominated Xinyu Liu as the new CEO for MG Motor Europe, with the aim of improving the growth of the brand’s business in the Old Continent. Xinyu Liu happens to Matt Lei and takes office from today’s date.
Xinyu Liu boasts a 20-year career in the automotive industry with SAIC Motor in China. He joined MG Motor Europe when the brand was relaunched in continental Europe in 2019. In March 2020, Liu was named CEO of MG Motor France.
And it was the French country that achieved, under Liu’s leadership, the best performances for MG in continental Europe. The new CEO was responsible for the 120 MG Brandstores opened in all regions of France. As vice president of MG Motor Europe, Liu was also responsible for sales and purchases of the MG brand in Europe.
Xinyu Liu, before MG Motor Europe experiences in Skoda
Before starting work in Europe, Xinyu Liu held the role of Executive Director of the Skoda division at the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture. In this role, he was responsible for sales, branding and marketing, network development and after-sales service, leading a team of 420 people. Previously, he held various management positions in the supply chain and in the purchasing division for the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture.
