Assassin’s Creed Rift: will it have Baghdad as a setting?

The new title of the Ubisoft saga, Assassin’s Creed Rift, according to some rumors, will have Baghdad as its setting. Let’s look into the matter together

From the rumors that have been running around in the last period it seemed that the setting of the next title of one of Ubisoft’s most famous sagas, Assassin’s Creed Rift, should be that azteca. It is known that every time the French software house is working on a new title in the assassins saga, rumors and leaks start as if it were raining, in fact recently the YouTuber ACG had stated that the next chapter should have an Aztec setting, a hypothesis that was promptly denied by the Bloomberg reporter, Jason Schreier.

Schreier on the setting of Assassin’s Creed Rift

According to the American journalist, the setting of Assassin’s Creed Rift will not be the Aztec one, but will have the city of Baghdad, confirmed by him also on Reddit to the various questions that fans have asked him on the subject. Furthermore, Schreier always states that the title will have as protagonist Basim Valhalla and will not be developed along the lines of the last three chapters of Assassin’s Creed. The new game from Ubisoftaccording to the journalist, will veer from the path of the immense open world RPG, to focus on an experience much more focused on the stealth and with a smaller map than its predecessors.

In addition to Rift, Ubisoft is also working on Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which at launch should contain more experiences, and always according to screamer there is no trace of the Aztec world as the frame of the work. In development there is also an Assassin’s Creed game focused on virtual reality, probably the title will be Nexus, and according to the recent rumors about the title it should see protagonists of past episodes, we won’t find any trace of Aztec here either. To clarify all these confirmations and denials, we will have to wait until September 10 when theUbisoft Forward Showcasegiven that the software house has confirmed that in September it would give news about the saga.
