Opel festeggia 40 anni della Corsa con una Special Edition thumbnail

Corsa 40 Years special edition for the 40th anniversary of the Opel Corsa

The original Corsa A was introduced in 1982 and, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the compact, Opel launches a special version with retro touches called “Corsa 40 Years”. It will be available in just 1,982 units, like the year of birth.

The hatch of the subcompact is painted in Record Red as a tribute to the red tint available to its ancestor four decades ago. To create a two-tone option, the eye-catching shade contrasts with the black roof. The floating roof effect is achieved by darkening the A pillar, B pillar and the top of the C pillar.

Opel will sell the anniversary Corsa 40 with 17-inch glossy black alloy wheels with matte accents. To enhance the two-tone exterior cladding, the front grille and side mirror covers are all black, as is the rear roof spoiler. As a finishing touch on the outside, the Rüsselsheim-based company has blacked out the crest on the front and back.

Corsa 40 Years old style “checkered” interiors are back

The interior of the Corsa 40 Years is reminiscent of its predecessor with checkered upholstery, a common theme for European cars in the 1980s. The retro-styled seats are complemented, of course, by these checkered finishes.

Plus, buyers are given away limited edition tartan socks in two versions: with a current motif and the original one.

As for the car, the Opel B-segment sedan gets a plate with an individual number from 0001 to 1982. It is installed on the passenger side of the dashboard on a black background with a red insert.

As a special edition, the Corsa 40 Years does not leave out a bit of modern day technology. In fact it is equipped with features ranging from automatic LED headlights and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity. There is also a safety kit that includes the front collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection.
