eFootball PES 2022: Konami confirms the postponement of the first update

After the problematic release of the game, Konami has confirmed in the last hours that it has to carry out a postponement of the first update of eFootball PES 2022

eFootball PES 2022 is Konami’s new football game, for the first time this year in a totally free-to-play key and with a totally revolutionized title. From the beginning it was announced that the game would be supported through the release of various Payable DLC, and that the launch content would eventually expand with other new modes and weekly events. On September 30th, eFootball PES 2022 came out showing up with a huge number of problems, getting harsh criticism from fans and ending up bombarded with negative reviews on Steam. This led Konami to publicly apologize, promising a title improvement via the first update of eFootball PES 2022, which would be included in October.

We are now running out of time as regards the date scheduled for the first update, or the October 28, and for this Konami was forced to make a new statement through Twitter regarding the status of the work of eFootball PES 2022, announcing the postponement.

The tweet is followed by further statements:

We sincerely apologize for the delay and the problems caused, we hope that the additional time taken will allow us to ensure a better experience for all our users. We will announce the date and details of the changes and adjustments as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime, we will continue to work on improving the game, and look forward to working with you on eFootball 2022. Thank you for your patience.

eFootball PES 2022 came in one form somewhat limited, with offline one-on-one matches both online and against the game’s AI. The Creative Teams modes, the Creative League, various events, new types of players, contracts and much more would be added. Instead, it seems that we will have to wait until at least first weeks of November for updating.
