Fujifilm X-H2s. This is the name of the new top of the range branded Fujifilm, with the “s” which stands for “Speed”. Speed. This is what the company wanted to focus on, using the new X-Processor 5 which allows frequencies up to 1 GHz. On board, however, we also find another surprise: its 26M stacked sensorP, where stacked means that the structure is in layers, with the layer with the backlit pixels being superimposed on a logic layer, which houses the signal processing circuits.
The result of all this? 40 photo bursts with the electronic shutter.
Fujifilm X-H2s news
However, there are other elements that make Fujifilm X-H2s particularly interesting, such as ultra-fast focusing with subject detection, from classic faces and eyes to animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes and trains. A comparison to help you understand? The X-H2s is three times faster than the X-T4.
Moving to the top of the chamber, we notice the changes made compared to the X-H1. One of these is the ring nut: the X-H1 had two rings, one for the ISO and one for the times, while here we find only one, positioned on the left and dedicated to PASM modes with 7 customizable C programs. To the right of the viewfinder we find instead a backlit e-ink display e 4 buttons: REC, ISO, WB and a Fn button. The last three have been arranged vertically, which makes it easier to find them without having to take your eyes off the viewfinder.
The Fujifilm X-H2S shutter button has been redesigned and delivers a “lighter” half-pressure positionas well as easier operation between the “half” and “full” pressure positions.
On the side instead we have two memory card slotsrespectively CFexpress Type B and SDXC UHS-II.
Subsequently separate headphone and microphone jack input, both 3.5 mm, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a USB-C port that allows you to use the X-H2s also as a webcam, without the aid of software.
E i video?
Let’s move on to the video department.
The X-H2s allows you to registerand video up to 6.2K at 10-bit 30p and 4K at 60p with 6k oversampling.
Has the ability to register gli slow motion in 4K a 120p, with 4K / 120p mode applying 1.29x crop but still slightly oversampled. There is 1.38x crop in 1080 / 240p and 200p modes.
The available codecs are ProRes 422 HQ, H.264 e H.265 while the F-Log2 and the dynamic range of over 14 stops guarantee a wide versatility in the phase of color correction.
Shooting times vary according to the outside temperature, with 25 ° we will have 240 minutes of shooting in 4K / 60p. Contrary to 40 ° we will get 20 minutes of shooting in 4K / 60p.
Precisely for this Fujifilm has decided to introduce an external fan to be applied on the back that allows to keep the camera at a stable temperature.
