Ghost Recon Frontline: announced at the Ubisoft Showcase the new game in the series

At the Ubisoft Showcase scheduled for tonight, the new game in the Ghost Recon series has finally been revealed, with the name of Ghost Recon: Frontline

The Ghost Recon saga is now over twenty years, and Ubisoft celebrates the event, even if after the disappointment that has resulted in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint among the players, not to mention the various detours taken through the last chapters of the series, with open-world maps and the abandonment of the purely FPS style that characterized it. And in this event, fans were expecting some Announcements, maybe a new game that could redeem the series: it was in tonight’s Showcase, therefore, the moment in which Ubisoft showed the new game Ghost Recon: Frontline.

Ghost Recon Frontline: the new game of the saga, in multiplayer battle royale sauce

The new Ghost Recon: Frontline will be a game that will take up one aspect of the series, with the typical FPS view. However, it will be exclusively multiplayer, with full-scale PvP combat, battling more than 100 players simultaneously. Set on the island of Drakemoor, a place with various biomes and unexplored places, it will remain, according to the words of the developers, one tactical shooter, but with a novelty: the player will be the one who will create his own experience, through the creation of new tactics and methods to deal with various situations and overwhelm the opposing soldiers.

Classes will be highly specialized, with specific tactical roles: an example is the Assault, which will be optimal for close combat and for attacking with great effectiveness; the Support will have fortification skills with which to protect themselves; the Scout will be able to go on a reconnaissance and annoy the enemies. More classes will be added with seasonal updates. The mode available at launch will be Expedition, where teams of 3 players parachuted on the island will have to retrieve information scattered everywhere. There will also be other defined modalities “Less demanding” for those who want a classic shooter experience.

Also in the Showcase it was stated that, while Ubisoft Paris will work to improve Breakpoint, the studio that will take care of the new game Ghost Recon: Frontline will be Ubisoft Bucharest. In addition, there will be the possibility of play for free the first chapter of Ghost Recon and the Fallen Ghosts DLC from Ghost Recon Wildlands. For now it is possible to register on the official website at test phase of the game, which will be released in early access only on PC and reserved for European servers.
