The MCU is constantly expanding even on the small screen with the arrival of many TV series: here is the chronological order of the Marvel titles

In recent years, a myriad of TV series from the Marvel universe have come out, and continue to be announced. These are an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that only began on the big screen, and are inserted into the storyline at various points. In this guide we want to try to provide you with a compass to orient you among the various titlesgiving you an indication of the chronological order of the events narrated in the Marvel TV series.

Indeed, if the MCU is composed of am 23 movie already landed in theaters and 11 more to come in the coming years, it must be said that the situation will continue to evolve in the television sector as well. For the moment they are indeed 15 TV shows related to the franchiseincluding titles released on Netflix, Hulu, ABC, Freeform and finally Disney +, which currently holds the monopoly with 11 series already announced in phase 5, with Secret Invasion kicking off in June. Below we list them in chronological order based on the events told within each adventure.

1. Agents of SHIELD | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set between 1931-2019, this series embraces a very long narrative arc over the course of its seasons, dealing with the history of the secret agency formed to keep the paranormal under control in a world populated by superheroes and super villains. Between time travel and formidable enemies determined to annihilate SHIELD, there is no shortage of action and fun. In the cast Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Brett Dalton (Grant Ward/Hive), Chloe Bennet (Daisy “Skye” Johnson/Quake).

2. Agent Carter – Season 1 (2015) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 1946. In the immediate post-war period, Peggy Carter, the agent of the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) finds herself forced to balance her work with the secret mission entrusted to her by Howard Stark, framed on charges of selling lethal weapons to the enemy. To clear the man’s name, Peggy must find those truly responsible and recover the weapons, assisted by Stark’s loyal butler, Edwin Jarvis. During the investigation, the SSR confronts the secret Soviet organization Leviathan. In the cast Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), James D’Arcy (Edwin Jarvis), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark).

3. Agent Carter – Season 2 (2016) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 1947, it follows Peggy Carter after the end of the events of the first season, when she moves to Los Angeles to deal with a threat (the new Atomic Age) coming from the secret organization of the Council of Nine which threatens to endanger many people. She finds new friends, a new home and a potential new love interest. This is the latest MCU TV series set in the twentieth century.

4. Daredevil – Season 1 (2015) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2014, this season kicked off the golden season of the Defenders but also of the TV series deriving from cinecomics, thanks to a excellent writing and screenplay, excellent interpretations and heart-pounding choreography. Deprived of sight as a child, Matt Murdock fights injustice as a respectable lawyer by day and superhero Daredevil by night Hell’s Kitchen. Nel cast Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock / Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk / Kingpin).

5. I Am Groot (2022) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2014, right after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1this miniseries follows the growth of Baby Groot, finally ready to take his first steps out of his den, only to discover that you have to learn to walk before you can run. Each episode follows the little tree as he grows across the galaxy, meeting new and unusual characters and embarking on new adventures.

6. Jessica Jones – Season 1 (2015) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2015, Jessica Jones is a private investigator with superhuman strength, who however would like to make a life as normal as possible. However an old enemy, Kilgrave o Purple Man, come back from the past come back to haunt her. This sinister figure is capable of convincing anyone to do anything, and has a sick attraction to Jessica, but in the meantime she meets Luke Cage. In the cast Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Carl Lucas / Luke Cage), David Tennant (Kilgrave).

7. Daredevil – Season 2 (2016) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2015, Daredevil has to get back into action despite trying to retreat when the forces of evil have returned to wreak havoc in Hell’s Kitchen. In this case the superhero may be forced to choose between the city and his friends, particularly after the upheaval in his life caused by the return of an old acquaintance, Elektra.

8. Luke Cage – Season 1 (2016) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2015, it follows the story of Luke Cage, already appeared in the Jessica Jones series, who plays the role ofinvincible defender of Harlem and face corrupt politicians and ruthless gangsters, as well as demons from his past. His skin is impenetrable, but he will soon realize that it is his powers that put him most in danger. In the cast Mike Colter (Carl Lucas / Luke Cage), Mahershala Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Simone Missick (Mercedes “Misty” Knight), Erik LaRay Harvey (Willis Stryker / Diamondback).

9. Iron Fist – Season 1 (2017) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2016, it follows the story of Danny Rand, wealthy heir to a powerful dynasty, believed dead, returning home after 15 years. In fact, during this time he exiled himself to the Far East and underwent extremely hard training in order to be worthy of the power of the Iron Fist. With this new weapon he is ready to reclaim the past and follow his destiny. In the cast Finn Jones (Danny Rand / Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum).

10. The Defenders – Season 1 (2017) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2016, it unites the superheroes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, who are forced into an indispensable coexistence to fight common enemies that threaten New York: members of a criminal association called the Hand.

11. The Punisher – Season 1 (2017) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2016, it explains the story of Frank Castle, already appeared in Daredevil, a former marine, determined to punish the criminals responsible for the deaths of his family members, who finds himself involved in a conspiracy bigger than himself. A lot of action and a lot of violence, almost splatter, characterize this series that sees Jon Bernthal in the role of the protagonist.

12. Jessica Jones – Season 2 (2018) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017, Jessica Jones collides with other ghosts from the past and with the mysterious experiments that have given her and other people superpowers. As she searches for the origin of this affair she is forced to face a mysterious killer with superhuman strength. Jessica will once again have to face the problems of a superhero life in a normal world.

13. Inhumans – Season 1 (2017) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017 Due to a coup, the members of the royal family of the “Inhumans” find themselves missing in Hawaii, where they will have to save themselves and the human race. In the cast Anson Mount: Black Bolt, Serinda Swan: Medusa, Ken Leung: Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor: Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish: Crystal, Ellen Woglom: Louise, Iwan Rheon: Maximus.

14. Luke Cage – Season 2 (2018) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017 As fame and responsibility grow, Luke Cage’s life is turned upside down by a mysterious character with special powers and a plan to take over Harlem. He will find himself a champion again even if distinguishing good from evil will become increasingly difficult.

15. Iron Fist – Season 2 (2018) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017 As a gang war brews in New York’s Chinatown, Danny and Colleen try to protect the innocent and face fearsome enemies, old and new. The action and combat stunts that characterized the first season return in this second, however lacking in originality.

16. Daredevil Season 3 (2018) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017, with Wilson Fisk catching up, Matt Murdock tries to rise from the ashes of his life, ready to do whatever it takes to protect Hell’s Kitchen. Once again he will be called to sacrifice himself for the sake of his loved oneseven at the cost of losing them forever.

17. The Punisher – Season 2 (2019) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017, Frank tries to protect a teenager embroiled in a dark conspiracy while doing anything and everything to destroy Russo once and for all. The Punisher returns stronger and more violent than beforebut also more determined.

18. Cloak and Dagger – Season 1 & 2 (2018) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

Set in 2017, it follows the story of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers who they discover that they possess supernatural powers after meeting each other by chance. The two boys will have to become aware of their abilities, assuming the pseudonyms of Cloak & Dagger. They will try in every way to fight evil in New Orleans and to discover more and more details about their past. In the role of the protagonists we find Olivia Holt (Tandy Bowen / Dagger) and Aubrey Joseph (Tyrone Johnson / Cloak).

19. Loki (2021) | Marvel TV series in chronological order

The first entry in the MCU Phase which officially includes the TV series, Loki is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, even if it follows the story…
