During the Nintendo Direct of September 2022 that has just ended, the big N with Square Enix officially announced the already rumored Octopath Traveler II: let’s see the first trailer together!
The curtain has just fallen on the Nintendo Direct stage of September 2022, with many minor announcements, but also some surprises on the titles arriving in the course of next winter (and in the first months of 2023) on Nintendo Switch. Among these there is certainly the confirmation of the already rumored Octopath Traveler II, following an already exceptional first chapter and that all lovers of old-style JRPGs (as well as the Bravely Default series) have been able to appreciate. Despite the obvious pacing problems, Octopath Traveler was a great console exclusive for Nintendo Switch (the JRPG later arrived on PC too) and there had been talk of a second chapter in probable development for a long time.
And Square Enix officially presented it on the Nintendo Direct stage just ended, also revealing the release date, on February 24, 2023. Octopath Traveler II will have a cast of eight characters exactly like the first chapter, all of which were presented in the announcement trailer shown during the conference and which you can find below. A trailer that reflects a lot the nature of the series and that promises, at least for now, very well. We leave you to the vision.

Again it was used l’HD-2D, already used in the first chapter and, more recently, in Triangle Strategy. A very particular style that makes characters and settings unique, accompanied by artistically sublime sprites and what looks like a screaming soundtrack. If it hadn’t been noticed yes: we are waiting a long time for it.
