Sony's latest firmware updates for Alpha cameras introduce functionality to attest the authenticity of the images and combat the spread of counterfeit content. Proprietary digital signature and C2PA format support ensure that images are taken with Alpha Series cameras. And those aren't the only new things coming.
Sony cameras, update to guarantee the authenticity of the images
The novelty the more important it is Camera Authenticity Solution by Sony. This technology integrates a company digital in the camera to certify authenticity at the time of shooting. The signature contains metadata 3D of the Sony image sensor for check if the object is real or an image/video.
Combined with protocol support C2PA, guarantees the traceability of the image from shooting to publication. Sony will implement a site for validate integrity of images even after editing, initially for selected press agencies.
