Suzuki launches Green Friday by planting Japanese cherry trees throughout Italy

Suzuki Italia, with the Green Friday project, donates part of the turnover of November 26, 2021 (Black Friday), to purchase symbolic Japanese cherry trees to donate to the Municipality of Turin, to help make the city air cleaner. then extended to the whole national territory thanks to the support of the Official Car, Motorcycle and Marine Dealership Network.

On the sidelines of the National Tree Day of last November 21, Suzuki Italy has undertaken to allocate 0.5% of the Auto, Motorcycle and Marine turnover of Friday 26 November 2021 (Black Friday) to the purchase of trees. Also, thanks to the customers who bought Suzuki and supported the project Green Friday, were collected 9.200 Euro.

The funds will be used for buy Japanese cherry trees – the famous sakura – emblematic trees with pink and white flowers. These will be donated and planted by next March in the Municipality of Turin (at whose doors the Italian headquarters of Suzuki is located).

In addition, more than 200 dealers from the Auto, Motorcycle and Marine divisions have joined the Green Friday project. These, together with Suzuki Italia, have planted at least one Japanese cherry tree in a park within their territory of reference. Overall then, Suzuki and its network will give life to an ideal diffused forest, bringing the colors of Japanese vegetation and a breath of fresh air to many cities. The positive effect on air quality will be added, in spring, to the extraordinary spectacle given by the pink flowering of the cherry trees. This striking phenomenon is a very important event in Japan and is celebrated with the hanami. This is one almost ritual contemplation of this wonder of nature.
