In fact, it foresees the presence of new game mechanics: During the investigation, players will be engaged in the Dance of deduction, in which they will have to collaborate with the well-known British detective Herlock Sholmes, whose excessive deductive zeal will prove to be a double-edged sword. During classroom battles, in addition to presenting evidence and questioning witnesses, players will take part in Summary examinations in which they will have to highlight inconsistencies between the statements of the jurors to pursue the case. Another novelty compared to the rest of the Ace Attorney series is the Story mode, which allows players to witness each other without having to do any additional detective work.
The game is set in the late 19th century during the Japanese Meiji period and the British Victorian era, its protagonist is the young aspiring lawyer Ryunosuke Naruhodo who, with the help of his lawyer, Susato Mikotoba, and the great London detective Herlock Sholmes, must test his skills to unravel the mysteries behind 10 compelling cases. The title is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch; for those who purchase it before August 31st, there is also the From the Vaults bonus, which consists of a collection of 54 unpublished artistic and musical pieces.
