To try to convert these users to a specific content creation product, Sony took the first step last year by introducing the ZV-1. The compact has opened a new segment in the photo / video field and has conquered many users. Today, however, the sister sees the light, an older sister developed on the basis of the excellent feedback received during these months. Is called Sony ZV-E10 and the first and substantial difference with ZV-1 is that we are in front of a mirrorless and that there is a larger sensor on board.
Sony ZV-E10: technical characteristics
The new Sony ZV-E10 mirrorless vlogger represents the union between the alpha 6000 series and its sister Z-V1. On the one hand the E-Mount bayonet which allows the use of over 60 different lenses and the APS-C format sensor, on the other video and sharing functionality designed specifically for the modern creators of the generation Z.
In detail, the sensor has a resolution of 24.2 million pixels and allows the recording of videos up to 4K / 30p format, with downscaling from recording in 6K, a detail not to be overlooked because it allows you to capture more details and make the most of the electronic stabilization on the sensor.
At its side the sensor finds a valid help in the image processing processor BIONZ X, now a guarantee in terms of image quality even at high sensitivities. The new Sony ZV-E10 is equipped with the focusing system Fast Hybrid AF and Real-time Eye AF (human only) with real-time tracking. The performance should allow creators to work with great precision in focusing even in dynamic conditions. The possibility then of counting on Touch Tracking allows you to select a single subject to follow, so even when there are more people in the scene, the focus will always be on our protagonist.
From a design point of view, the small mirrorless Sony ZV-E10 does not differ from the previous cameras of the house, even if there is no optical viewfinder but only a swiveling display. It can be rotated fully up to allow us to check the framing in selfie shots.
In the upper part of the camera body there is a directional microphone with three capsules and thanks to the windproof cover included the audio will be clean. But if we wanted even better audio there are also two dedicated inputs for better performing microphones from both Sony and other manufacturers and for headphones.

The new Sony ZV-E10, as mentioned, is meant for content creators and that is why there are several creative video features. For example, we find the button Bokeh Switch to automatically adjust the depth of field. It should be noted that this is not a digital solution, but the aperture of the lens mounted on the lens is physically varied.
The Product Showcase mode was already seen on ZV-1 and returns to help those who usually show products in their videos. And the third and popular function for those who have to rely on quality but also on the speed of sharing is the Soft Skin Effect. However, it is not a beauty mode like the ones we often see on many smartphones, but it brings a pleasant and natural improvement. Furthermore, thanks to Face Priority AE we will always have the correct exposure on the face.
The fight against smartphones continues with another feature that not many still offer on cameras of this level: vertical shooting. You can therefore count on high quality content also for Instagram stories or tiktok.

Sony ZV-E10 is a mirrorless that meets the needs of a very wide audience, from tiktokers to videomakers who need to integrate an online tool with more professional equipment for on-the-go content. The possibility of being able to count on a very large park of lenses is certainly the real strength of the ZV-E10 which thus allows you to change your setup according to shooting situations.
The new APS-C Sony ZV-E10 mirrorless will go on sale from the end of August at a price of € 750 for the body only version. For the kit that includes the 16-50mm the cost reaches € 850.
