HUAWEI Watch GT 4 review: elegant and functional

Build quality and display | HUAWEI Watch GT 4 review

The build quality is certainly one of the strong points of the HUAWEI Watch GT 4. The case is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 41 mm (in the variant that has come down to us), which makes it suitable for medium or small sized wrists. The strap is interchangeable and available in several materials, including stainless steel, Milanese mesh, leather, composite and fluoroelastomer. The case is also equipped with a customizable button and a rotating crown to move easily through the system menus.

The design is undoubtedly elegant and refined, easily adapts to any occasion. The front panel is instead a AMOLED da 1.32 inches with 360 x 360 pixel resolution. The pixel density is 326 ppi, very high for a similar diagonal, which guarantees sharp and well-defined images. The display is also very bright (note the difference with an ‘older’ HUAWEI Watch GT2 Pro), this makes it easily readable even outdoors.

Hardware and autonomy | HUAWEI Watch GT 4 review

The beating heart of this HUAWEI Watch GT 4 certainly lies in the sensorsabundant and it needs. The detection of steps, sleep or heartbeat is extremely precise thanks to the systems HUAWEI TruSee 5.5+ e HUAWEI TruSleep 3.0, now well established and reliable. The GPS module for tracking workouts is also good. Furthermore, thanks to the Bluetooth connection with the smartphone, it is possible to synchronize favorite contacts that can be easily called with the watch, thanks to the speaker at the bottom (which can also play the music you have installed). However, it is worth mentioning theabsence of the detection ECG.

On the autonomy front, however, this 41 mm variant does its job but does not go further, with a declared autonomy of 4 or 7 days, it settles more often on the 3/4. However, stand-by consumption is good, with a slight constant discharge. Finally, the rather rapid charging takes just over an hour to reach 100% and takes place via the supplied wireless base.

Software e App Companion | Review HUAWEI Watch GT 4

The software is rich in features, and as already mentioned it can help us call management, notifications (which however can only be responded to with preset messages), music and even as a remote shutter (Android only). Even the sports activities they are not few, more than 100, and that thanks to the Built-in GPS they manage to cover most of the request. Other features include the weather, breathing exercises, timer, alarm, smartphone search and more. There is also an application store (AppGallery) accessible via the companion app, which however does not have a great offer and with the few apps available not all of good quality.

The companion app is HUAWEI Health, downloadable for free from the official website. An application complete with everything you need, with refined graphics and a rather intuitive interface. In fact, it offers exhaustive graphics on all types of measurements supported by the smartwatch and an integrated store watchfaces. Unlike the one for applications, for the latter the choice is almost infinitebetween official and user dials, free and paid: there is something for all tastes!

Price and availability

All things considered, we recommend purchasing this new one HUAWEI Watch GT 4 mainly to those looking for functionality and design without having to spend a fortune, but still finding themselves faced with a complete and aesthetically suitable product for any occasion. It is currently possible to purchase it su Amazon and on the official HUAWEI store.
