The ten categories
NEXT-IMAGE Awards 2021 includes 10 different categories designed to enhance specific characteristics of Huawei smartphones and highlight the innovative reach of the camera of new generation devices to create cutting-edge images and videos.
Portraits
Portrait photography tells and documents human stories and events more than words can. Whether it’s a self-portrait, a portrait of a loved one or a model, Huawei invites you to submit your best shots.
Black and white
Monochromatic images allow you to focus on subjects, shapes and composition without being distracted by colors. Use the black and white technique to create a unique shot and enhance its content and its beauty.
Video-story
Shoot a movie of 15 minutes or less to express your creativity and share your story through moving images. Become a director and create a cinematic masterpiece to show to the world.
Foto-story
Unlike the other categories that allow you to upload only a single photo, in this one you can propose a selection (from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 9) to express emotions, tell a story, document changes or new trends.
Snapshot
Photography gives the opportunity to live every moment to capture precise moments and scenes. Create
a snapshot to tell an intense story or to immortalize an important memory forever.
Wide angle
Usually the photographs taken with the zoom are blurry or of low quality, but this is not the case with Huawei devices. Use your wide angle, focus on the important details and you’ll get perfectly sharp zoom shots.
Shoot from a distance
Wide-angle lenses allow photographers to get as close to the subject as possible without excluding important elements in the background. Use your mobile photographer skills to take shots that feel like you are seeing the scene firsthand and not through a camera lens.
Night shots
Thanks to the power of AI, Huawei smartphones allow you to photograph extraordinary night scenes without using the flash. Express your talent and creativity to make an unforgettable night shot.
Super Macro
In photography, as in life, the small details are important. Experiment with different subjects and photography techniques using the camera’s ability to capture small elements up close.
Hello, life!
Huawei smartphones guarantee sharp quality images full of vitality. Show all the vibrancy of colors through your smartphone’s camera.
Student Focus Award
This year, the ten categories are joined by the Student Focus Award for students between 18 and 24 years old. After seeing an increase in the number of young candidates last year, with about 40% aged between 18 and 24, Huawei has decided to reserve a prize for new generations of creatives, confirming its commitment to promoting and supporting the creativity of the youngest. Talented Student Focus Award winners will be awarded a $ 1,000 NEXT-IMAGE Creation Fund.
